Early feeding and drinking is the global standard

Four years ago, HatchTech proudly introduced the HatchCare concept – the hatcher with feed, water and light. A spectacular booth at VIV EUROPE was the launching platform for this ground-breaking innovation. Today, the poultry industry is recognising “early feeding” as the standard; a necessity for the production of healthy animals without using antibiotics.

This magazine introduced the HatchCare project in Vrede, Germany, which was constructed by our highly respected and long-time customer Probroed & Sloot (WIMEX Agrarprodukte Import und Export GmbH). This project is only one out of the four, large-scale HatchCare facilities of this European market leader for day-old chicks. Within four years after its introduction, over 40 HatchCare units have been placed, hatching healthy and strong birds for German and Dutch poultry farmers.    

By the time you read this magazine, more than one billion HatchCare chicks will have hatched in HatchCare. All of them left the hatcher and were placed in a chick transport vehicle without leaving the hatching basket: via “stress free” and “no-touch” hatchery automation! As a finishing touch, HatchCare birds are transported in the new HatchTraveller for HatchCare chicks. A transport system with light, fresh air and feed at chick level.
