Maintain superior day-old chicks by providing the right conditions

Chicks hatched in HatchCare are supplied with the basic necessities of life – feed and water.  At pull time, chicks that had access to feed and water have on average 15% more body weight and increased heat production. Environmental conditions during handling, transport, and brooding should be adapted to suit the requirements of these better developed chicks as they produce more heat to maintain this early feeding gain.  HatchTech’s research department investigated the new design of the HatchTraveller and focused on the body temperature to create an optimal environment for HatchCare chicks.  Dr. Inge van Roovert-Reijrink, Manager Research at HatchTech, provides in-depth insights about the important conditions to support HatchCare chicks.
