HatchCare: the new standard in modern poultry production
Those of us, who regularly read poultry news updates, must have noticed the dramatic increase in attention to the subject of “antibiotics usage in poultry”. Influenced by large retail- and food companies, and consumers, global players are adapting their standards on antibiotic use in poultry. But, do these producers have the tools to suit the actions to theirs word? And do these tools match with today’s consumer demand for “transparency”?
By thinking along with the market, we have introduced the answer to today’s challenges at VIV Europe 2014: HatchCare – the hatcher with light, feed and water has been adopted extremely well. Within 12 months from today, the astonishing number of more than 500 million chicks will be hatched in HatchCare (based on contract states; may 2015)!
Chicks that are born in a HatchCare machine are completely supplied with the basic necessities of life – light, feed, water and fresh air – which prevents dehydration and delivers healthier and more robust chicks, with increased body weight. Because they leave the egg in an illuminated space, they experience less stress when the hatcher door is opened. All of this combined leads to a healthier and stronger chick delivered to the farm, resulting in lower mortality rates and reduced need for antibiotics.
I am looking forward to the coming months of 2015. The commercial team of HatchTech welcomes you to visit us in our HatchTech Experience Center and is more than willing to share detailed product information and field results with you.
